In its 2017 report, The Path to Lawyer Well-Being: Practical Recommendations for Positive Change initiated by the ABA, the National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being noted that too many lawyers are experiencing chronic stress and high rates of depression and alcohol and substance use, and calls for proactive solutions in changing the profession’s long-held mindset of passive denial. Chronic stress adversely effects attorney-client interaction, competence, and professionalism, as well as employee engagement, productivity, absenteeism, turnover, and law firm sustainability. This course is designed to provide human and organizational strategies to reduce workplace stress while promoting firm sustainability.
